At Your GolfVantage, golf isn’t just the industry we work in — it’s the game we’ve grown up with and love.

Our Director, Tom, first picked up a golf club as a child at Darlington Golf Club in the North East of England. Nearly 30 years later, he’s still passionate about the game and now plays off scratch, giving him a deep understanding of golf clubs, golfers, and the culture of the sport.

Alongside his lifelong involvement in golf, Tom has spent his entire professional career working in marketing for some of the UK’s largest companies. His interest in the connection between golf and marketing began at university, where he wrote his dissertation on “Factors Which Influence Golfers’ Buying Behaviour.” From that point on, the idea of combining his two passions — golf and marketing — was always in the background.

That opportunity arrived in 2024.

After a slow start to the year, Tom was approached by his home club, Garforth Golf Club, to help increase visitor revenue. Over the following six months, Tom worked closely with the club to improve their marketing and attract more visiting golfers, which he still does to this day.

Not only did the work deliver real results, but Tom also discovered how much he enjoyed helping a golf club grow and succeed.

It soon became clear that many other clubs were facing the same challenge — they knew marketing was important but didn’t always have the time, expertise, or equipment to do it effectively.

That’s when Your GolfVantage was born.

Today, we support golf clubs across the country with practical, effective marketing that helps them increase visitor revenue, attract new members, and showcase everything their club has to offer. Because we understand both the business of marketing and the realities of running a golf club, we’re able to provide support that’s tailored specifically to the golf industry.
